ATOMIC WEAPONS ESTABLISHMENT

PROJECT DETAILS

Client: AWE
Contractor: Tremorfa Ltd
Location: Southern England
Contract Value: £500,000.00

The Atomic Weapons Enterprise based in southern England provides and maintains nuclear warheads for the Ministry of Defence and is recognised as a centre for scientific, engineering and technological excellence, equipped with some of the most advanced research, design and production facilities in the world.

Tremorfa were contracted to carry out an electrical installation on this site.

As was to be expected, the security on this site operated at the highest possible level, and meant that each of our suppliers had to be security vetted. We had to provide names and vehicle registration of all suppliers and any other vehicles at least 24 hours in advance, as well as make sure each driver had photographic ID on their person.  Engineers on site also had to operate under the most stringent of security situations, including how to react in a terrorist situation.
During this install, a number of contractors were asked to leave site because they did not meet the strict security rules laid out by AWE.  Not only did Tremorfa remain on site, but we were also asked to carry out the outstanding work of those that had been removed.

PROJECT DETAILS

Client: 118 188
Contractor: Tremorfa Ltd
Location: Switzerland
Contract Value: £200,000

Tremorfa have carried out a number of Electrical Installations for 118 188 over the recent years.

This has included a £200,000 install in Biel, Switzerland.  Tremorfa were specified by the client, despite being such a distance away as they knew that by employing us the job would be completed on time and on budget.

The job carried many challenges, especially for our procurement department, who had to work hard to ensure that we were able to purchase the same products that have become standardised for the customer, ensuring that they were obtained at a competitive price to ensure that the job remained profitable, as well as taking into consideration the environmental impact of transporting goods from the UK to Switzerland.
